Guy Wendler, Principal of North Amana, Inc., is a seasoned business executive with experience in b-to-b media,market research, higher education marketing, digital media, and consumer marketing. He served for over 25 years as President/CEO of Stamats Communications, Inc., a well-respected national b-to-b media and marketing services firm. During his tenure at Stamats, Mr. Wendler led the company through a period which saw the transition of the company from primarily a print-based business to one today which is rich in digital media. This transition was realized through both organic growth and acquisitions and divestitures.
In 2008, Stamats’ headquarters building in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, was severely damaged by a 1,000-year flood requiring employees to be relocated and the building interior to be completely gutted and rebuilt. Under Mr. Wendler’s leadership, the company not only survived the flood but ended with a record year.
Mr. Wendler has been active in industry associations including American Business Media for which he served in various capacities, including Chairman. He has served on boards of directors of b-to-b media companies and continues to do so to this day.
Mr. Wendler retired from full-time employment with Stamats on July 1, 2018 but remains current and active in the industries served by Stamats as well as other industries.
Prior to joining Stamats, Mr. Wendler practiced law with a leading Cedar Rapids, Iowa, law firm in the areas of business law, estate planning and taxation.
Mr. Wendler was born and raised in the historic Amana Colonies in eastern Iowa and continues to remain connected with the community, including serving on the board of directors of the Amana Society, Inc. He lives with his wife, Terri, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and has three grown sons and two daughters-in-law.
